During their factory expansion, one of our clients needed dedicated assembly stations for flame arresters, breather valves, and emergency relief valves. Their production floor had a trimix flooring base with uneven levels, so standard tables were not an option. They required workstations with adjustable levelling, integrated storage, power access, and proper lighting, all designed to handle heavy-duty industrial use while keeping operators comfortable through long shifts.

Valve assembly involves repetitive precision work. Operators must manage housing, discs, springs, seals, and calibration gauges while maintaining absolute accuracy. Any instability in the workstation can affect torqueing or calibration, leading to inconsistencies.

To meet these requirements, Furnisys delivered four Scitec Workstations designed specifically for valve assembly applications.

Stable & Vibration-Free Worktops

The workstations featured GI-clad worktops, engineered to handle heavy valve housings, discs, and springs. The flat, impact-resistant surfaces provided stability during torqueing operations while being easy to clean and maintain. Threaded stud levellers (M12 × 25, nylon base, zinc-plated mild steel stud) ensured that each bench compensated for flooring undulations, creating a vibration-free environment for precision tasks.

Organized Storage, Right Where It’s Needed

Under the worktops, we integrated lockable drawer and cupboard modules to securely store torque wrenches, micrometers, calibration gauges, O-rings, and valve seats. This meant operators had all tools within reach, reducing unnecessary walking and improving overall assembly efficiency.

Above the bench, Link Uprighters provided vertical functionality with pegboards, tool holders, and bin rails. These allowed fasteners, circlips, and packing rings to be organized for quick retrieval. A marker board mounted on the pegboard further enabled operators and supervisors to leave instructions or record batch data right at the workstation- minimizing communication gaps during shift changes.

Power & Lighting for Efficiency

Every workstation included a horizontal power rail, allowing pneumatic drivers, sealant applicators, and digital testers to be connected directly at the bench. This eliminated cable clutter and reliance on extension cords, improving safety and productivity.

Overhead LED task lighting provided bright, shadow-free illumination across the work surface. This ensured operators could inspect gaskets, seals, and thread alignments without eye strain, enhancing both quality and comfort.
